running down the slope...weeeeee

Yep, on Saturday the little ladies will be two and the old cliché ‘Hasn’t time flown by’ couldn’t be more adapt.

I’m not sure if it’s because they are twins and there is undeniably more work involved but it does seem we don’t stop. Ever.

I have been incredibly lucky as the girls have always eaten well, followed by a good sleep and some interactive time where they can amuse themselves quite happily. They’re not high maintenance, nor highly strung and if we do have clingy days it’s normally because of tooth cutting, feeling a bit under the weather or just tired.

So Saturday we shall be celebrating them and rolling their party into a house-warming too. I have invited (via email!) family, friends and some little people from the twins club we go to.

I have ordered Peppa Pig party plates and napkins AND we shall have a bouncy castle too! So please let the weather be good.

I have started to buy gifts for the party bags but it’s not simple, the children coming go from 2 to 11 meaning I have to think about individual bags rather than bulk buying, mind you the sweets will cover all ages!

Mum’s making a  cake for me, well for them of course, Paul will be firing up his BBQ ( a passion of his!) and I will be running around remembering stuff I’ve forgotten like wine in the freezer cooling and ice cream on the dining room table that’s been taken out of the freezer to make room for the wine!

I have prepared games. Pass the Parcel. Pin the tail on the donkey. (Note to self – find a blindfold!) Musical statues, bumps and sleeping lions – my favourite where I judge from above the still bodies as I peer over a freshly loaded glass of wine. I have prizes – unisex ones which is fairer but possibly more boring?

Proud daddy

As for presents for the girls, I still haven’t got anything, in fact I haven’t even written lists for them as I was so taken up with Moving House lists and Holiday lists that I forgot about them completely. Anyway, I am sure they won’t go without and I will get them something after all the rush is over.

So last shopping on Friday and the list is massive! and a trip to Bluewater to get them something to wear which technically they don’t need having a wardrobe full of clothes bought for their holiday but can you be two at your own party with an old dress? I don’t think so and maybe mummy will need a little something too…

Paul has managed to find a playlist on his iPod that he set up a couple of years ago titled ‘Weeksey’s BBQ’ so I think that is what he plans to play, we’re pretty rubbish with music as we only drag the iPod out now for parties and invariably neither of us has had the time to update it or make a fresh list so our family and friends get random shuffles which can also include a ‘Three blind mice’ squeezed in between The Killers and Bon Jovi, it does keep people awake and give them something to talk about I suppose!
