Shiny Happy things meme

Only the other day I was wondering to myself What on Earth is a meme? and Hey Presto, I’ve been tagged in my first by Beth @ So Much To Do

So with a title of Shiny Happy Things and instructions to blog about something that never fails to make you smile I came up with the girl’s brand new wellies, purchased this morning from Asda.

Aren’t they gorgeous? Do they bring a smile to your face? They do mine.

There’s something about little people’s shoes that tug at my heart-strings. I find them cute, adorable and funny. ‘Buffo’, an Italian word that explains all three adjectives in one go.

Watching the girls learn to walk has been very amusing, I love the way they push their bottoms high up to the sky and then try to raise their bodies to the upright position, steadying themselves with outspread arms as they wobble in all directions.

BUT back to the wellies, I adore them, I always have done and my own are in the loft somewhere after their last use at V festival a few years back. I must dig them out this weekend and breath new life into them.

So our Brand New Wellington Boots shall be worn for the first time tomorrow, maybe for a trip to the park, or to go and see granddad but even more exciting I have them ready for a ‘practice run’ this afternoon after the girl’s nap here in the lounge.
